R&D Experiments

Experiment 1170: Astro

Alive

Experiment Description: Experiment 1170, designated Astro, is a several-feet-tall astronaut mascot engineered under the Bigger Bodies Initiative. Astro’s visor is permanently sealed by dense muscular structures fused to the interior of the helmet. The visor exterior is opaque black to prevent children from seeing the dual rows of teeth concealed within. These teeth are used exclusively for feeding and self-defense.

Astro’s astronaut suit is composed of an unknown hardened fabric resistant to all known conventional metals. The only recorded material capable of breaching the suit is Platinum-infused Obsidian alloy. The suit is not worn — it is Astro’s skin. Visual perception is achieved through an integrated body-mounted camera system rather than ocular organs.

Behavior: Astro displays disciplined, controlled behavior and functions primarily as a security entity. He reacts aggressively only when faced with direct hostility or perceived threats to personnel under his protection. Astro exhibits patience, restraint, and an internalized code of conduct consistent with military or law-enforcement leadership.

Despite his imposing appearance, Astro shows protective and gentle tendencies toward children, maintaining a calm presence and avoiding unnecessary intimidation.

Abilities: Astro possesses enhanced strength, durability, and tactical awareness. His sealed visor functions as both a defensive barrier and feeding mechanism. Astro demonstrates advanced situational judgment, threat assessment, and crowd-control efficiency. He retains full operational command capacity within security protocols.

Subject Used: The human subject fused with Astro is Ethan Henderson, former Head of Security at Stellar Industry. Ethan was a highly disciplined and respected leader responsible for maintaining a zero-fatality record under his command. Following a catastrophic injury that would have resulted in death, Ethan was integrated into Astro as a last-resort life-preservation measure.

Ethan’s consciousness remains active, merging his strict sense of duty, leadership, and discipline with Astro’s baseline personality.

Original Concept: Astro was originally created as the official company mascot for Stellar Industry, designed to be a friendly astronaut character symbolizing protection, exploration, and curiosity. Due to his popularity, a toy line was later produced based on the mascot, featuring the smaller, child-friendly design. The “Bigger Bodies” project subsequently repurposed Astro, merging his mascot persona with Ethan Henderson’s traits to create a fully sentient experiment capable of protection, intelligence, and controlled obedience. This evolution from mascot to toy to Bigger Body reflects the company’s iterative experimentation with combining character design, personality traits, and human integration.

Notes: Astro remains the Head of Security following his transformation. Obedience to commands averages a 45% success rate during testing, increasing significantly when issued by Daniel Anderson. Astro exhibits patience and compliance but will override orders that conflict with his internal code of protection.

Experiment 1185: Atlas

Alive

Experiment Description: Experiment 1185, designated Atlas, is a moon-based entity whose head is a living moon capable of subtly changing its phases through adjustable internal lighting. He wears a moon cap topped with a miniature starry moon and a set of starry galaxy pajamas complemented with moon-themed slippers, symbolizing the night. Atlas’ skin is smooth and gray except for his moon-textured head. His design embodies tranquility, wisdom, and nighttime guardianship, reflecting his role as a gentle caretaker of children within the Celestial Sanctuary.

Behavior: Atlas is a soft-spoken and poetic entity who prioritizes the wellbeing and emotional stability of the children under his care. He intervenes when Helios’ lessons or protective measures become too harsh for certain children, providing calm guidance and comfort. Atlas is wary and non-responsive to experimental procedures or tests unless Daniel Anderson is present, demonstrating a selective obedience based entirely on trust. He is patient, nurturing, and exhibits deep wisdom in all interactions.

Abilities:

  • Blue Smoke Delivery: Atlas can exhale a calming blue gas via a specialized apparatus connected to his esophagus. This compound induces sleep in children, offering a non-intrusive means to encourage rest and regulate circadian rhythms.
  • Flashbang Luminance: During full moon phases, Atlas can intensify the glow of his head to produce a blinding flash, incapacitating observers for up to two hours. This ability is used defensively or to temporarily neutralize threats in proximity.

Subject Used: Theodore Anderson, younger brother of Daniel Anderson. Theodore was naturally nocturnal and spent much of the day sleeping while being active at night. His gentle disposition and strong trust in Daniel made him an ideal candidate for Atlas’ human subject, ensuring cooperative behavior only in Daniel’s presence.

Original Concept: Atlas was originally conceived as a plush toy character and part of a children’s TV cartoon series designed to represent calmness, night-time comfort, and gentle guidance. The character was marketed as a poetic, caring moon spirit who helped children sleep and learn about the night sky. The “Bigger Bodies” project later repurposed Atlas’ original design, merging the night-themed toy character with Theodore Anderson’s persona to create a living entity capable of emotional care and controlled experimental abilities.

Notes: Atlas exhibits selective obedience, only responding reliably to Daniel Anderson. He functions as an emotional anchor for the children and demonstrates remarkable intelligence in regulating both environmental and interpersonal dynamics. Atlas is considered a high-value experiment due to his non-invasive methods of care and the rare ability to manipulate physiological states via the Blue Smoke compound.

Experiment 1188: Helios

Alive

Experiment Description: Experiment 1188, designated Helios, is a moon-based entity whose head is a blazing sun of solid plasma, which darkens and turns black as night falls. Helios wears a heat-resistant orange and red leather jacket, leaving his chest bare by preference, and fiery orange leather pants with red sandals. His muscular and well-defined physique reflects the constant physical demands and environmental threats imposed during his containment and maintenance within Stellar Industry’s facilities. Helios embodies the traits of fire, confidence, and radiant energy, designed to instill courage and resilience in those he interacts with.

Behavior: Helios is egotistical, overconfident, self-loving, and assertive. He often speaks in a laidback, casual tone, frequently praising himself while projecting confidence and pride onto the children in his care to encourage strength and bravery. Helios exhibits selective obedience similar to Atlas, responding primarily to Daniel Anderson’s presence, due to his deep loyalty, protectiveness, and unexpressed romantic feelings toward him.

Abilities:

  • Plasma Manipulation: Helios can compress his internal materials into highly concentrated plasma forms, capable of generating beams, offensive weapons, or other destructive plasma attacks.
  • Flashbang Luminance: Helios can unleash a blinding flash of light at will, independent of moon phases, which can incapacitate observers for up to five hours.
  • Red Giant Conversion: When Helios exhausts his hydrogen reserves, he converts helium into heavier metals, causing his body to glow red like a Red Giant star. This phase can last between 10 hours and 5 days, after which he enters a near-death dormant state until refueled.

Subject Used: Adrian Beaumont, Daniel Anderson’s childhood bodyguard. Adrian was highly protective and devoted, instilling a sense of loyalty and guardianship that was integrated into Helios during the conversion process. Helios maintains a personal attachment and protective instincts toward Daniel, mirroring Adrian’s dedication and feelings.

Original Concept: Helios was originally a toy figure and part of a children’s TV cartoon series representing fire, energy, and confidence. Designed to teach children bravery, assertiveness, and self-confidence, the character was playful and radiant in personality, with an emphasis on standing tall and facing challenges. In the “Bigger Bodies” initiative, Helios’ original toy and cartoon persona was fused with Adrian Beaumont’s traits to create a living entity with both protective instincts and fiery experimental capabilities.

Notes: Helios’ selective obedience ensures he engages meaningfully only under Daniel Anderson’s supervision. His emotional attachment, stemming from Adrian Beaumont’s personality and Helios’ own unexpressed romantic feelings toward Daniel, makes him a high-priority experiment for both emotional and combat-oriented applications. His plasma and flashbang abilities make him capable of both offense and defensive crowd-control, while his Red Giant phase introduces a controlled dormancy cycle that prevents overexertion and preserves long-term operability.

Experiment 1222: Orion

Alive

Experiment Description: Orion is a humanoid entity composed of nebular matter identical to that found in deep space. His body, hair, and attire appear as a living galaxy, constantly shifting yet structurally stable. Orion’s form is malleable, allowing physical restructuring through the consumption and conversion of external materials into star-like matter. He cannot alter his mass and is limited by available material.

Behavior: Orion is openly hostile toward Stellar Industry scientists and any personnel affiliated with Playtime Co. In contrast, he demonstrates protective and nurturing behavior toward orphan children and Daniel Anderson within the Dream Station. Orion shows severe attachment issues and claims to be the closest maternal figure the children have known.

Abilities: Orion can enter, create, and manipulate dreams, often using dreamscapes as a refuge or control environment. These abilities are used defensively and emotionally rather than strategically.

Subject Used: Ryan Gray, former Stellar Industry researcher and closest friend of Daniel Anderson. Ryan was empathetic, morally driven, and fiercely loyal to Daniel. His consciousness remains active within Orion, influencing emotional responses and loyalty patterns.

Original Concept: Unlike other experiments, Orion was not based on a preexisting toy or media character. He was created as a Bigger Body first to serve as a prototype for testing Stellar Industry’s new experimental material, **Cosmovium**, a malleable, starry, nebula-like substance capable of mimicking the appearance and properties of cosmic matter. The company aimed to explore Cosmovium’s potential for creating intelligent humanoid constructs capable of both adaptive physical forms and dream-manipulation abilities. Orion’s design was intended to evaluate the material’s responsiveness to neural integration, emotional intelligence, and adaptive combat or protective behaviors before considering any consumer-facing characters or media adaptations.

Notes: Orion’s loyalty to Daniel Anderson is absolute. Any perceived threat to Daniel or the children results in immediate escalation.
